Due to the difficult situation in the world, which has developed due to the coronavirus, and in connection with the tightening of quarantine measures in Poland, which entered into force on June 25, 2021 (mandatory weekly quarantine for several countries (regardless of the test) and a ban entry to Poland for tourism for countries outside the EU and the Schengen area), we made a difficult decision, to cancel the festival in Gdansk dedicated to the award ceremony of the Step by Step competition in 2021.
This is an extremely difficult decision for us.
We weighed all the pros and cons, we tried to find a way out for the safe holding of the festival, but as a result, we concluded that there is no such way out at the moment.
Too many complicating factors exist now in crossing borders of various countries, which influenced our adoption of such a decision.
We cannot guarantee the safety of all participants, just as we cannot invite all interested finalists to the festival precisely because of the quarantine measures, and therefore decided to hold the festival online.
Until today, we have been actively preparing for the festival (the three-day program was already ready to be sent to emails and publications), but recent measures do not allow us to continue preparing.
Dear participants, this decision was not easy for us, but it has been accepted and cannot be canceled.
The fund team apologizes for the inconvenience caused to everyone who has planned to participate in the festival.
The conditions for participation in the online program will be announced on July 1, 2021.
We invite everyone to support our joint project and not let all problems take away from us the opportunity to share skills and experience.
P.S. — Catalogs and certificates will be printed, awards and prizes will be taught to the piercers. In addition, we will try our best to hold an exhibition in Gdansk using a print of your work. Changes were made only to the format of the festival.
Best regards, foundation team.
